少々前になるが、六本木ヒルズの森美術館52F 53Fで開催されてた手塚治虫 火の鳥展とMACHINE LOVE: Video Game, AI, and Contemporary Artに行って来ました。
手塚治虫作品の中でも火の鳥は個人的に上位に入る名作で、幼少期に生きること死ぬことを見つめるきっかけになった作品でした。
不死鳥 火の鳥を通して生に執着する人間達が幾つもの時代をまたぎながら物語は動いていく。
あらゆる生命が常に姿と形を変えながら受け継がれていく輪廻転生の生命感と絶えず破壊と創造を繰り返し、その先にいったい何があるというのかを模索する物語で、夢中になって読んでました。
It was a while ago, but I attended the Osamu Tezuka Phoenix exhibition and MACHINE LOVE: Video Game, AI, and Contemporary Art, which were held on the 52nd and 53rd floors of the Mori Art Museum in Roppongi Hills.
Even among Osamu Tezuka’s works, Phoenix is, for me personally, one of the top masterpieces, and it was a work that, in my childhood, allowed me to reflect on life and death.
The story unfolds through the immortal bird, Phoenix, as human beings cross eras desperately holding on to life.
The sense of life of reincarnation, where all life constantly passed down, changing form and shape, and the endless cycle of creation and destruction — it’s a story that seeks what may lie beyond all of that, and I was engrossed in reading it.
